As a result of collaboration among the BIR Degree, IE University Registrar’s Office and IT departments, on the one hand, the new application for digital signature of certificates and management of teachers grades has been put into operation; and on the other hand, the grades module of Atenea has been updated to support the digital signature of certificates.
All this represents a great improvement in the processes and services at IE University and in the digital transformation of key processes in our business.
The new application fulfills the following objectives:
- More agile and efficient process in signing and sending the certificates, between the different areas involved.
- More secure process, because unlike the physical signature, the digital signature allows greater verification capacity.
- More responsible process, since it eliminates the need to print the certificates on paper, and thus contributes to our strategic goal of CSR.
Some reviews of interest:
Miriam Fernández de Caleya, IE University General Secretary: “The new Digital Signature application is very intuitive and easy to use. The tutorial, provided by the IT department, can be of great help for those teachers who are facing this digital process for the first time”.
From the BIR Degree:
Fernando Menéndez: “It allows for a more thorough review throughout the entire process; before, during and after the submission of the student’s final grades”.
Sol Fonruge: “The new digital platform makes the entire process faster and paperless. It is an automatic signature, which implies that once professors sign the document and the Program Direction is notified, the Degree Program can digitally sign the document immediately and send it onto the Registrar’s Office to publish the final grades in a matter of seconds. This makes the process more effective and secure”.
Beatriz González: “It´s easier and intuitive, the majority of our professors do not have any issue when following the steps to complete the process. The digital platform is also ecofriendly: paperless!”.
Katherine Pascal: “The new digital platform speeds up the process for the professor as all his or her previous and current courses taught in a given semester and/or academic year appear listed at the top of page”.
Thanks to all of them, together with Ángel Javier Ripa, Daniel González, Daniel Pinillos, Jose María Vilaverde and Patricia Guijarro, from our IT Department, for this successful project.
