Last week Carlos Garriga attended the Fall Meeting of the Business School Computing Directors (BCD) Association that held at Emory University's Goizueta Business School, in Atlanta (Georgia).

BCD brings together CIOs from the World’s top business schools. IE together with INSEAD and London Business School are currently the only members from outside the US. The other schools are as follows: Berkeley-Haas, Chicago-Booth, CMU-Tepper, Columbia, Cornell-Johnson, Dartmouth-Tuck, Duke-Fuqua, Emory-Goizueta, HBS, Michigan-Ross, MIT-Sloan, Northwestern-Kellogg, NYU-Stern, Penn-Wharton, Purdue-Krannert, Stanford, UCLA-Anderson, UNC-Kenan-Flagler, USC-Marshall, Virginia-Darden and Yale.

There all the schools had the opportunity to catch up on their latest projects and to share their experiences and best practices through short presentations by their respective CIOs.

Furthermore, they were able to learn in depth about the work of the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business’ IT department and its contribution in this institution.

Additionally, there was a series debates that covered common topics among the IT Business School community such as the challenges of managing large CRM implementations, adopting cybersecurity best practices with the minimal impact possible on the organization, trends in data & analytics, or the application of the latest audiovisual technologies available for online programs.

Finally, all the BCD meeting attendees had the opportunity to visit Emory Goizueta’s facilities and engaged with top leadership from the School.

IE Meta XR Day was an incredible event showcasing the latest innovations in immersive technologies for education and work. The day was packed with informative talks, captivating demonstrations and plenty of opportunities to connect with XR experts and enthusiasts.
